Osteopathy and Chiropractic Medicine PDF Print E-mail

Manipulative medicine covers the fields of Osteopathy and Chiropractic treatment. Osteopathic treatment is the older of these two, and chiropractic treatment developed in America in the 1930s. Generally speaking, chiropractic treatment is more violent, but diagnosis is often made using X-rays and therefore may be considered more useful.

In the UK, osteopathy is primarily used for muscular skeletal conditions, although in recent years so-called cranial osteopathy has developed, which claims to have effect on non-muscular skeletal problems. There has however been little research so far in this area.
